The wisdom of these words sinks into my heart as I reflect on the past year. It is indeed comforting to remember that no effort is wasted, that even when it does not seem so, I remain on the path of spiritual growth and evolution.
As I go through my own process to Wring Out 2008, I see times when my actions just didn’t hit the mark that I intended. For instance, I bought a used camping trailer thinking it would make my camping life easier – Not! Parking a trailer is way more complicated than just setting up my little tent! There were times when I simply failed to take action so nothing happened, like the way I procrastinated about art lessons. Why did I choose to postpone my Joy? And of course there were times this past year when life threw me a curve ball, and I just plain fumbled it. Those were embarrassing enough without writing about them!
Some of the events of the past year could easily be judged as wasted effort or as losing ground instead of gaining. The wisdom of the quote above saves me from my negative judgments and reconnects me with the truth that all is well. I am right where I am supposed to be in life, no matter how it appears to my judging ego self. And I am reminded to relax and trust that every action has been important, and every time of inaction was also important. Through this Wringing Out process, I open to more spiritual growth and prepare the way for a joyful New Year.
